Holiday Ready?

Holiday Ready?

Holiday Ready?

It is amazing just how fast time goes by.  The salon industry has more ups and downs today that it has ever had.  Consistency doesn’t even seem to be a word we can use.  We must be ready and prepared for when the time does happen that we become so busy we don’t have time to even eat (but you must!).  So, there are a few things that you can do to help yourself be better prepared.  We have compiled a few for you:

AS SALON OWNERS:   Make sure that you:

  • Make sure you have  ordered your gift certificates, business cards, appointment cards, Christmas cards, tissue paper, etc.  in advance so that you do not run out last minute
  • Post signs and have meetings with staff to make sure that you have prebooked as many clients as possible to take confusion out of booking and guaranteeing appointments
  • Have all of your holiday items purchased for your coffee bar in advance
  • Prepare all of your holiday social media, sales blasts, and specials in advance
  • Prepare all of your worker’s schedules and make sure that you have enough coverage for your client’s
  • Check your schedules and adjust the days closed accordingly and post
  • Prepare your staff where additional coverage/hours may be needed for help
  • Order all additional Christmas retail in advance so that you do not run out
  • Remember to get enough sleep, food and balance in your life during these busy days

AS TECHNICIANS:  Make sure that you:

  • Prebook your clients as far out as your are able to
  • Prepare your work area and be organized (it saves time!)
  • Have your products filled and available
  • Have new items or services that may be available to offer
  • Make sure you have reviewed your schedule for double bookings and time off
  • Mention or put signs up for your clients for any specials offered
  • Offer your clients a refreshment and make them always feel special
  • Suggest something new?
  • Extend your schedule for client’s who may need extra time
  • BE ON TIME!!!!!
